The inaugural “30 Under Thirty” award honored 30 Caribbean Americans aged 30 and under for their commitment and active engagement professionally, academically, or personally.
The Honorees were Caribbean American and represented the Academic, Entrepreneur, Activist, Community Leader, Student Leader or Member of a Caribbean Student Association whose work has contributed to making a measurable difference on a University/College campus in the USA or in their community.
Each Honoree received a Certificate of Leadership attesting to their selection as a member of the 2016 class of 30 Under Thirty Caribbean American Emerging Leaders.
ICS celebratec the 30 honorees at the Caribbean American Legislative Week in Washington, DC on June 23-25th. Those who were able to travel to Washington DC participated in Ignite Caribbean- Forum on the Future and a Breakfast Reception at the Inter-American Development Bank, hosted by the Office of the Executive Director for the Caribbean region. In addition, six of them were given an opportunity to present at the Ignite Caribbean - Forum on the Future at the Inter-American Development Bank.
Two honorees - Dani Washington and Alpha Sennon were selected to receive Cash Awards of US$500 each towards their NGOs.
