Miami native with Jamaican roots, Danni Washington is passionate about our oceans and science communications.  In 2008, she graduated from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science with a B.Sc. in Marine Science/Biology. That same year, she and her mother, Michelle Swaby-Smith co-founded The Big Blue & You - A 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and educating youth about marine conservation through the arts and media. BB&Y hosted their 5th Annual ArtSea Festival for South Florida kids and their families at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Miami. This festival is a fun-filled celebration of the ocean featuring UM Ocean Kids marine science activities, local artists creating recycled art plus health & wellness activities. Danni has nearly 8 years of experience as an on-camera personality with Untamed Science,  Ocean GEMS and other types of science media. Danni co-starred with Jaden Smith in the official educational outreach video for the theatrical film After Earth starring Jaden and his dad, Will Smith.

The show is set to air on FOX syndicated channels across the nation in September 2016. Danni believes that water is LIFE and the ocean connects us all on a deep level. She has a resounding appreciation for the arts and seeks any creative outlet she can use to express her love of the sea.
